Achieving Greatness
79
Nothing great ever comes without a sacrifice, are you willing to put in the amount of work it takes to get to where you want to get? and most importantly do you believe?
Greatness is not some esoteric quality that only a few of us have. It's not this God-given gift that is predetermined among us and only a few people have this inequality to ever achieve greatness ...no greatness lies in EVERY single one of us, we all have the ability to become great, but the difference lies in what we're willing to do to get there and how we're going to do it.
You know there's a certain redemptive power that making a choice has, we all wake up in the morning when the sun rises and we have an opportunity that lies before us. We can either be productive or seek instant gratification, but that choice is up to us. All the people who you look up to in this world who are great those honorary figures and those community leaders they all worked to where they wanted to be, they were willing to put in as much time and effort every single day to get there.
Nothing worth having in this world comes easy, nothing great ever comes without a sacrifice and all these succesful people they were willing to do whatever it took to get there, but it's something even more than just about putting the work and the effort, it's something more than that. It all starts with your mind, because the first step before anyone else believes it is YOU have to believe it. It's all about your belief system and your thought process of how you're going to succeed by carrying out the activities that you carry out to reach your ultimate goal that you envision. You have to believe that this is what I'm going to do, this is how I'm going to do it, and no one or nothing is ever going to stop me from reaching that goal.
You have to say to yourself I thought of it and it's done the world just has to wait and see the finish product and all the successful people in this world they whole-heartedly believe what they're going to do will not result in failure, because they can't fail.
No one or nothing is going to deter them from reaching their goal and they whole heartedly believe that and the person that has the slightest doubt... you might as well not even try, because he who says he can and he who says he cannot are both usually right. Every successful person believes it mentally, emotionally, physically, psychologically, physiologically, it all becomes ones and it all acts towards reaching that ultimate goal and the word confidence I don't want to use that, because that term sells it short. It's something more than that, they are willing to do whatever it takes, they are willing to make as many sacrifices as it may take to get there whether it means not seeing their family, not hanging out with friends, not going out and partying, they are willing to die for their cause, because they can't fail if they act upon that belief. Every person you've ever looked up to they whole heartedly believe they are going to succeed when they act upon that belief.
When Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team and he told his parents that he's going to become a professional basketball player, is that realistic? No, but he BELIEVED it and you know the end result.
What about Henry Ford when he went bankrupt 5 times before he created a successful business, that isn't realistic either, but he believed it.
Burt Reynolds was told when he was younger he couldn't act, but did that stop him? Certantly not.
Clint Eastwood was told that he would never make it into movies, because of his physical attributes, did that stop him or deter him from reaching his ultimate goal? No
The list goes on and on and on about people who have failed over and over again just to succeed.
When Thomas Edison took 10,000 times to refine the light bulb, what if he gave up on the 9,999th time? Everyone has the ability to be great, but it's all up to you.
How bad do you want it?
How much are you willing to do for it?
Most importantly, do you BELIEVE it's going to happen?

Great hub.
I agree with you that greatness is an inherent quality in every human. All we do is forget about it. Our culture and society do not encourage greatness in us.
